welcome to your name here (aka ynh)
about me.
hi - i’m natalie james. i live in los angeles, ca (originally from michigan) and i’m a lot of different things: a daughter, sister, dog mom, travel buddy, friend, confidant & level-headed october libra. i’m also a thinking partner, a writer, and a person who spent about six years on autopilot before realizing my life was passing me by. it took a lot of hard work, deconstructing and rebuilding in my life to finally realize that my value doesn’t come from anything other than me being myself.
i’ve worked in several (very different) industries: i hold a cosmetology license & learned how to talk to people by standing behind the chair. i learned about sales working in a specialty retail store. i learned about business in college where i studied communications with an emphasis in braodcast and i put all of it to use (and so much more) working in the los angeles real estate market on one of the top teams in the nation. all of these various positions in my life gave me several different avenues to gain invaluable experience learning how systems and humans actually work. i love helping people & sharing my experiences in hopes that it can help someone else navigate their situation a little easier. (or at least not feel so alone) i prefer side-by-side conversations, honest critiques, and the relief of being a real person in a world full of curated lies.
what is ynh?
ynh stands for “your name here” and i used this name because what i’m building is not based on me and what i can do. i’m talking about myself enough to show you who i am so you can decide for yourself if we’re a good fit to work together in some way. the idea of the platform is to create something totally new - and affordable in today’s economy. something REAL people can afford to pay for & it’s priced that way in an attempt to help create a new entry point into entrepreneurship for people who may not know where to start or what’s required. the goal is to break down some of the barriers keeping street smart people who may not have the right “formal education” to get into business and create a sort of side door & a bunch of new tables in the business world.
ynh is still in it’s early stages. i have a lot of plans i’m excited about building towards, but for now it’s sort of a hybrid between an online community for honesty & side-by-side work paired with a living journal built from my thoughts & experiences thus far in life. it’s also a strategy container for those who are built different and may be brilliant at their craft but feel out of place trying to fit into the standard “business box”. my advice usually goes against the “norms” of the coaching and business worlds - not because i’m not equipped for them, but because i’m done following rules that don’t actually work.
why ynh exist?
it exists because most “business advice” is just a script for over-functioning. i’m here to help you move out of survival mode and into your own authority. ynh exists to show you that you can build a business that actually fits your life (rough edges, weird rhythms, and all) without shrinking your vision or losing your soul in the process. i want to see people take great ideas and make them into reality. ynh will be a success if the friends i end up working with are able to create meaningful change in their life in one way or another (hopefully in all the ways) and the real dream is to see people build generational wealth & achieve their dreams and goals.
why subscribe?
you should subscribe if anything i’ve said so far helps your shoulders drop even a little bit. if you’re tired of feeling out of place or like you somehow just don’t “belong” (especially if you’re great at your job & people are always relying on you) or if you’re someone who wants a business that feels as good as it looks - then ynh is probably for you. ynh is here to come along side you & help offer you strategy, systems & leverage, so you don’t have to carry the whole weight of the vision on your back every single day.
what you’ll get:
the ynh edit: once a month, i put you on game with the things i’m actually using (systems, tools, and products, etc.) that help me hold the line or make my aesthetic libra heart happy.
unpolished clarity: business strategy that focuses on being resourced rather than just “productive.” (meaning the strategies help you set some things down & give you back some of your capacity)
the receipts: honest talk about the dismantle, the rebuild, and the slow walk back to the seat at the table you already own.
if you’re ready to stop the act and get to the work? pull up. let’s get to it.
